About Dr. Medrano

Guillermo Medrano del Rosal, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. He graduated top of his class and worked hard for the opportunity to do research at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Medrano del Rosal is fellowship trained in duodenal switch surgery, bariatric surgery, lap band removal, bariatric revision surgery, vertical sleeve gastrectomy and roux-en-y gastric bypass. He takes special interest in bariatric (weight loss surgery) and robotic surgery especially in very obese patients and those with diabetes.

He enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports, especially soccer. He has enjoyed a long soccer history, which includes earning a scholarship and playing in national tournaments. After spending over 6 years away from Texas, he realized how much he missed Texas. He is very happy to be back in Texas, where he has a long history from El Paso to Houston and now his latest chapter here in San Antonio. He speaks both English and Spanish.
